Cold Brew
Tools&Ingredients: Burr grinder, wooden spoon, french press or jar, whole bean coffee, 1.5 cups filter water (room temperature)
1) Mix 1/3 cups coarsely ground coffee and water in jar or french press
2) Cover and let stand 12-18 hrs
3) Strain and decant grounds from liquid
4) To serve, mix 1:1 water or milk to taste over ice
French Press
Tools&Ingredients: Burr grinder, wooden spoon, scale, timer, french press, whole bean coffee, boiled filter water
1) Weigh out Coffee// Coffee:water = 1:17
2) Grind Coarsely into French Press
3) Start timer, and pour filtered water of 210 F temperature enough to wet grounds and let them bloom
4) After 20 seconds, break crust with wooden spoon and pour rest of the water
5) Place top over grounds while coffee brews for 4 minutes
6) Gently push press all the way down, pour and enjoy
Chemex
Tools&Ingredients: Burr grinder, goose neck kettle, scale, timer, Chemex & Chemex filter, whole bean coffee, boiled filter water
1) Weigh out Coffee// Coffee:water = 1:17
2) Grind Medium fine, placing in filter resting in Chemex
3) Start timer, and pour filtered water of 210 F temperature enough to wet grounds and let them bloom
4) After 20 seconds, pour in a circular motion the circumference of a quarter in the center of the grounds to 1/3 of total water
5) When water recedes halfway, repeat pouring to total 2/3 of total water
6) Repeat step 5 to complete water total needed
7) After 4 minutes remove filter, serve and enjoy
